    ResizeEnable will let you turn usually non-resizeable windows into resizeable windows.

    Most windows will respond correctly, but some may not! Now you can resize any window.
    This is a very tiny (41.9KB) utility/hack that sits in your SystemTray/Notification Area and uses virtually no resources or memory. It is compatible with XP, Vista and even Windows 7. This is a true gem (think msconfig, for example ). There's a nice 'readme.txt' file included in the .zip. And there are LOTS of places to download this but here's one you can use below:

    Thanks, Jeff. I'll have to give this one a try. I can think of a number of other examples besides MSCONFIG! My desktop calendar (Palm) has a Find feature with a @#$%^& tiny output window and when you're searching for something with many events it's a "too terrible" lot of scrolling to see one entry.

    Thanks, Jeff!

    Found a use for it. In Access 2003, when you create a query, the "Show Table" dialog is short of space to display some queries' full names (which is a glaring error... if I can use n characters for a query name, why in the world does it display the first n-k only?).

    ResizeEnable allows to stretch this window to display the queries' full names.

    I still agree that it's a nice utility and I'm using it when needed. I've not added it to startup because I don't need its skills very often and it will start instantly anyway.

    I just wanted to share with you one funny one, since I mentioned it as a "need" (desire) of mine. The Palm desktop window for searching looks like this:

    [attachment=82841:2009_03_13_062114.png]

    I can make that window as big and tall or wide as I want, but the data area inside the window doesn't expand enough to solve my problem with a long list such as the example search. I said it's funny because the ResizeEnable is very functional but can't solve the "dysfunction" of a piece of software such as Palm Desktop.
