It's not too hard. You can just type (or paste) a URL in and that will give a clickable usable link, though it won't look like one. The better way is to click on the insert link button at the top of the message. Up pops a box in which you can type or paste the URL. When you click OK up pops a second box. You can then enter a title for the link. If you want it to say something like "My website" you type that. If you want it to actually show the URL itself, you just enter it again in this box too.

    Hope that helps!

    Gloria,
To say that SP3 includes things that you don't use or never heard of, is saying and assuming a LOT!

Do you really mean that you understand ALL of the bits and pieces of Windows? There are a lot of security fixes and improvements in SP3, so you SHOULD go for it. I DO however, remember the hassle we went through in convincing you to install SP2, so do your thing but you SHOULD update to SP3.

( it seems to me that you had a copy of True Image, so if you make an image before you update, you can always revert back with TI, if there were some unseen problem )

    Today it is called golf!

Have you ever heard about computer users who know a lot about nothing, well that's me. You won't have to work so hard this time, I'll take the bull by the horns and install it just as soon as I work up just a little bit more courage.

Thanks Ian....slowly getting the hang of the new lounge which must have taken many hours & great skill to construct, (for which fellers like me are grateful) but whilst it could well prove to be easy to navigate in the long run, it is a pity some of the previous features [tabs] like [posts in the past 1hr....2 hrs...3 hrs etc. were not carried over into the new lounge as they were so easy to use. Yes, there are some good convenient tabs like those to the left of this box but searching for previous articles and members is not as easy as before [at least that's what I think so far] opinion may change as time goes by. HI,
I have been trying to install sp3 on my Acer laptop since October last year, and again just now (suggested after a rare blue screen error). Each time the install hung and I had to back out.

I am grateful for XP recovery capabilities, but no idea why it will not complete its install. There are no error messages.

I have XP Professional with Zonealarm and AVG installed (I disabled them). not sure if these can impact it.

No problems installing on my desktop with similar software and XP Home.

So, yes, there are issues with XP sp3.

Are all your drivers for the notebook up-to-date? Are you trying to install SP-3 from Windows Update or did you download the Windows XP Service Pack 3 Network Installation Package for IT Professionals and Developers version?
