The last few months I have had 30-40 freezes in hotmail when I click a link or return to hotmail from a link. Requires a close and login again. Cleaned temp files and reviewed security and settings. Also used Microsoft tech support for XP. Nothing corrected the problem. Help.

You could try running Disk Cleanup and then defragging the drive.

Thanks Doc. I took your advice (cleanup on "D" took awhile) and at the end of the process the freeze happened again. I had to shut down totally - got a blank screen. Scary. I'll know soon if this worked.

    I appreciate your assistance.

1.) Is your system up-to-date with patches?
    2.) Have you tried IE7?
3.) Often problems with IE are because of add-ons. Have you tried running IE without add-ons?

    Thanks.

I downloaded some updates tonight after doing what Doc suggested. I have avoided IE7 due to reading about glitches. Deleted some add-ons like Java yesterday but decided to download updates for Java today. We'll see what works.

    Thanks again.
