I had to install the patched version 9.0.159.0 of the Flash Player because the latest version would not install. I would like to know what's the problem with the new one and why can't I install it?

Also, is there any way to check the version I think I'm using? It's supposed to be an ActiveX plugin for Windows.

I recommend downloading and installing the free Secunia Personal Software Inspector. It will tell you which versions you're using now, how to uninstall insecure versions of applications and where to get the latest version.

Thanks for the pointer to Secunia, Hans. After running the sofware inspector and a quick update to patch FlashPlayer, I now know I have all correct patches/program versions installed.

I discovered why I couldn't install the latest flash player. My Quero toolbar had blocked Adobe, after I unblocked it and installed again the player installed.
