    Cannot execute bs96se.exe (97/SR2)

I run Office 97 with Outlook 98 on a Win 95 dockable laptop with Norton Systemworks 2000 that is hooked into a LAN. Office operates from the laptop's own c: drive.

When I right click on any text, and select "Define," I get an error message that says "Cannot execute CTP25943aamsstpappbs96se.exe (2)"

Windows Find does not find anything for aamsstp or bs96se.* on any of the local or network drives.

However, both are mentioned in the CURRENT USER, LOCAL MACHINE and USER registry keys, under "SoftwareMicrosof"

    The registry keys are:
    CURRENT USERSoftwareMicrosofmicrosoft referencebookshelf96lprogram
LOCAL MACHINESoftwareMicrosofshared toolsmis ref title dllclients
    USERSSoftwareMicrosofMicrosoft referencebookshelf96lprogram
    LOCAL MACHINESoftwareMicrosofwindowscurrent versionapp pathsbs96se.exe

For the first 3 keys, the value or data given is CTP25943eaamsstpappbs96se.exe
(which differs from the path in the error message) No data or value is given for the last key.

I do not have the the Office 97 CD; it is licensed by my employer for the entire department. This has been happening for a while, and the computer is reasonably stable. Should I just ignore this?

I saw this at another tech support site, as an answer, I presume:

[b]"I looked in the registry with Norton Utilities Regedit and found the following KeyName:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftReferenceTitles BookshelfL

    the value name is DefinePath

and the original value data was m:aamsstpappbs96se.exe /H /D "%s"

    m: being my cd drive

I changed the value data to

    dffice97aamsstpappbs96se.exe /H /D "%s" dffice97 being the harddrivedirectory I copied the office97 cd to. Now I have an online dictionary. I didn

Thank you. Now, at least I know what I am missing.

However, I can't simply change the path since the bs96se.exe file is not on any drive to which I have access.

Perhaps I'll just ignore the problem.
