Office Clipboard vs. system (Windows) Clipboard (Office XP/Windows 2000)

Can anyone explain the difference/similarities between the Office Clipboard and the system (Windows) Clipboard? Thanks much.

The windows clipboard has been around for awhile now. To "write" to it, you just copy from any Windows program or hit the Print Screen (or Alt-Print screen) buttons on your keyboard. It holds only one item.

The Office clipboard is new with Office 2000, holds the last 12 (I think) copied items, and you can choose which one you want to paste at any given time. You can turn it off by hitting the X. It automatically appears after you copy two (I think, sometimes 3) items.
