    netscape convert (IE5)

I need help! as I am not too hot at all this.
I have been using netscape but have just bought a new PC. I would like to use IE on the new PC but is there a way of transfering my address book and favourites? or do I need to do it the hard way.
    Any ideas gratefully accepted,
    Adam

Bookmarks are easy. Netscape maintains a single bookmark.htm file under your profile, and if you choose Import and Export... from the File menu in IE, a wizard will grab it for you.

Address books probably can be imported into your new mail client. Which would be...Outlook Express? I don't use OE, so if no one helps on this board, try the OE board for more info.

It all seemed straightforward and the wizard told me it was successful but a box popped up to tell me 'error converting bookmarks.'
By the way, how would I transfer IE favourites on one machine to another?
Hope you can advise me further?

Can you tell if you got some of them converted? None of them? Hmmm...

If IE will not convert, there are utilities at download.com and other sites that will do the conversion. Many probably are free. (Searching... <A target="_blank" HREF=http://download.cnet.com/downloads/1,10150,0-10001-103-0-1-7,00.html?tag=srch&qt=bookmarks+convert&cn=&ca=100 01>Sample list</A>)

For IE and other Windows favorites, copy the shortcuts in c:WindowsFavorites, or wherever your Favorites folder is located. Hope this helps.
