In the new Lounge, it isn't really necessary to use [url]...[/url] tags to insert a link to a web page. Simply type an URL including http:// or copy and paste it from the address bar of your browser into a post. For example http://www.wopr.com becomes http://www.wopr.com when posted (it already works in preview).

Hmm, I added the [url] tags to a http:// because in preview it didn't appear to be a link until I did so. Mind you the http:// was inside [quote] tags so maybe that had something to do with it?

Let's see if it works within a quote block:
    Yes, it does!

Previous reply was made using IE7
This one is made in Firefox 3.0.7: http://www.google.com
So it's not a browser issue.

I'm probably the last to notice, and the 1,000th to comment, but in the new Lounge, the display of very long links pasted in this format gets abbreviated so it fits on about half a line, such as: http://www.google.com/search?q=cursive+ban...lient=firefox-a
(One of the members is family.) In the old Lounge links posted this way displayed in their full glory...or misery.
