    Show Paragraph Marks?

In Access97, is there any way to turn on a view of non-printing characters (tabs, paragraph marks, etc.) in a field like you can in Word?

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: Show Paragraph Marks?

In Access, you don't really have formatting characters like that. Yes, you can embed a carriage return in a field. With a richtext control, you can even embed formatting. But Access was never intended to be a document editor. It's a database, pure and simple, so no provision was made for seeing formatting codes.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish? Maybe someone can suggest an alternative.

We are using Access to create and process an online bibliographic database (Information Science Abstracts, if you're interested), and our abstractor wondered if there was any way she could look at the formatting just to make sure that any unwanted characters had crept in to the data.
