I have a list where I'm trying to determine the total of Column B values if Column c has no value in the adjoining cell. A SUMIF(C1:Cn, isblank, B1:Bn) ..but it doesn't work. Column C has data validation based on another range, so I can't fiddle with the values there. Can this be done? TYIA

    Try

    =SUMIF(C1:C10,"",B1:B10)

    or

    =SUMPRODUCT((C1:C10="")*B1:B10)

Just to add another equation to the pack

You could use =SUM(IF(ISBLANK(C1:C10),B1:B10,0)) and then press Ctrl+Shift+Enter
