I have seen on occasion a "spoiler no peeking" that is attached to a posting.

I have tried to open it up by highlighting it etc and could not.

Is there a way to do this.

    Please reply.

You should be able to read the spoiler by just highlighting it. If this doesn't work for you then try using a different skin to see if it provides a contrast that works for you.

    <span title="Spoiler: Highlight to reveal" style='color:#000000;background:#000000;padding:0p x 0.2em;'>SPOILER:Here is one to practice on</span>

That is the place I have seen that.

Is there more to just highlighting it?

If so, what could it be?

Nothing more. It must be the skin or your browser. I can see his spoiler just by highlighting.

Something simple, but by "highlighting" it, you're not just clicking on it are you? You are actually dragging your mouse across the area?

I must be missing something here. In the first post you said:

That by itself indicated that you could "open it" - since you had read it, "no peeking". Otherwise you'd be asking what that black area is, but you didn't - you correctly referred to the text underneath it.

I've just checked with all the skins using Fx3, and it works all OK. So what is the problem? There is no extra text to be found, nothing to click, to see what shouldn't be peeked at. Spoiler here is the old hidden text.

I think you're doing things the right way. It's Bowlie's confusing use of the spoiler tag (as a signature) that is the problem.

That's what I believe is the problem I have created for my self.

I thought there was more to the "Spoiler" then just highlighting it.

    Thanks everyone for the help.

    Learned something new today.

I've now added a link behind the spoiler text, but with Classic Blue I can't see any indication that there is a link. Is this a bug, or a feature?

I can just see it with oldstyle desert, so I imagine it's a function of the CSS for the theme, the "link" will be defined as a particular colour

    It's a featured bug.

With Classic Blue, I find that hovering my cursor over the link reveals the text and that it's a hyperlink...

    Thanks for the fix.

I am using "Classic Blue" and was able to click on the spoiler and open the link.

The only problem I had with the link was that all the text was in French.

Sorry, but Iím 67 and still trying to get some sort of handle on some of the dialects of American English!
