    I like my spreadsheets to fill color in every other row for easier reading. Is there an easier way to fill those rows besides holding the control key and highlighting every other row? It just seems so time consuming to do it that way. Thanks in advance for your help!

    You can use conditional formatting:
    - Select all cells (or the range you want to color).
    - Select Format | Conditional Formatting...
    - Select 'Formula Is' from the first dropdown.
    - Enter the following formula in the box next to it:

    =MOD(ROW(),2)=1

    - Click Format...
    - Activate the Pattern tab.
    - Select a color (pale colors work best).
    - OK your way out.

    If you already applied a background color in the Pattern tab of Format | Cells, remove that.
