Firefox 3.0.8 Released

FF 3.0.8 has been released. Personally, just as at the last update,
I had much trouble trying to go along with the automatic update,
and finally just downloaded the whole thing manually and installed.
EDIT: "fixes two critical security issues found in Firefox 3.0.7"

Added May 1: I should have remembered long ago to add this comment,
for completeness. The reason I had trouble with the automatic update is
almost certainly that I normally run Firefox with lowered (not administrator)
privileges (using the DropMyRights script). Otherwise, I have no trouble
with the automatic updating. Sorry I'm so tardy with this.

You won't have to wait long for the next update, 3.0.9 is due out on 14th April.

3.0.8 was a "firedrill release" due to a critical security vulberability that was publicly disclosed, which led to Mozilla releasing an urgent unscheduled update.

The release date has been pushed back a week, should be 21st

Thanks, Tony. There was one fix that was supposed to be included in 3.0.8 that I was looking forward to. I assume it will be included in 3.0.9. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

It's a fix for the problem I first reported in Post 723139. The Bugzilla id is 446568.
