I am running Windows xp Home -v 5.1- sp 3 and Internet Explorer 8.0.6001.18372.
When I close the CBS News page I get the Microsoft Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and asking to send an error report to Microsoft. I'm guessing the error has something to do with the Flash 10b.ocx. I've uninstalled anything having to do with Flash, gone to the Adobe website, downloaded and reinstalled Adobe Flash 10. I looked on the Adobe users page, saw lots of problems listed for flash 10b.ocx but none that seemed to duplicate my problem. I ran ZoneAlarm spyware and it found nothing. Is there a fix?

I also have Windows XP Home SP3, Internet Explorer 8 and Flash 10, but the CBS News website doesn't cause any problems for me (I viewed some videos that use Flash), so there must be another factor in the mix...

Other common culprits with IE are third party toolbars. If you have the Google or Yahoo toolbars make sure you have the most recent version.

Have you tried running IE without any add-ons?
