I've got a list of numbers as text that I need to format to 6 digits by adding preceding zero's so 55555 shows as 055555. Also =len to read a 6. How?

    Using formulas:
Let's say that your list is in A2 and down.
If necessary, insert an empty column in column B.
    Format column B as text.
In B2, enter the formula =RIGHT("000000"&A2,6)
Fill down as far as needed.
If you wish, you can replace the formulas in column B with their values, then delete column A.
