In the latest newsletter from Windows Tips & Tricks they suggest a program called Driver Detective which reveals any drivers that are out of date on one's computer. I would appreciate it if someone can keep me right regarding this free download so my question I would like to know if it is expedient to download this prog. and would it by chance help solve the problem of No Sound my friend Kinshasa has on his computer which? Thanx SF

You might want to check out DriverMax - FREE driver download program for Windows XP & Vista. It is free where Driver Detective requires payment to be able to download drivers using it.

Either MAY help identify the driver but ONLY if the hardware is properly identified. You'd be better asking the question in that thread rather than making us who may not know the whole background find the thread and read it.

I don't know if it will solve your friends No Sound problem but I have tried a few of these driver updaters, including Driver Detective and Driver Max. I'm am sticking with Driver Max now, since it does seem to dig out the necessary updates to a LOT of items.
