    I got a page from Google -- colonialhall.com/biography.php

but it won't load. Google (again) says IE should open it, but it doesn't. Instead it keeps asking if I want to download, but nothing downloads.

What kind of page is this and why can't I open it?

    Regards,
    Chuck Billow

The server is sending an unusual header with the page:
    Content-Type: application/x-httpd-php5
Normally php pages are sent as "text/html". So this is the server's fault, but I'm not sure of the best workaround for you.

    Dave / Jefferson:

It's Windows 7 / IE8...what / how do you see this page "normally" then, since it won't "show" or download?

You can save it locally as an HTML file and view it that way. The page lists an email address if you want to contact the author about this problem: jvinci@colonialhall.com.

I had the same problem on ALL of my machines.
I had to make sure that there was NO "HTTP://" or "WWW" before the pasted address "colonialhall.com/biography.php"

If they are there, the system wants to save or open the php file for editing.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

Dave, I came back, 'cause...that is/was so totally strange to me. Although it's not saying a lot, I've NEVER seen that happen before.

    What causes / caused it?

    Chuck

Most PHP type of website I visit, open on a "index.php" like it does here at "The Lounge".

I just tried it again and this time I used "colonialhall.com" and it works like it should and open at "http://colonialhall.com/index_t1.php"

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.
