    I have two monitors. With Word, I can drag a document to the second screen without having to open Word itself a second time. I can do the same with the VBA window in Access. For Excel, however, to view two spreadsheets side by side on my monitors, I have to open Excel a second time.

    Is this normal or am I missing a setting somewhere??

    You can stretch the Excel application window to cover both monitors and arrange two spreadsheets so that each is displayed on its own monitor - see Pearson Software Consulting.
