Stopping load of progs during startup

How does one stop programs from loading at startup? Specifically, programs that load from the Registry. Is there something equivalent to MSCONFIG under Win 98 for WIN 2K? I found a list of the programs being loaded at startup in one of the Administrative tools but it doesn't allow any changes.

A search of this forum turned up a nifty little utility. It was linked on MerC's site, but the link is broken so I found it elsewhere (psst! MerC!). Attached.

    Hi
Thanks for the warning. Will check it out, and report back.

Later All sorted out now. Even the author's home page is back on line.

    Cheers

Thanks, I found the same program through another path. It's also available as a stand alone executable so you don't have to put it into the Control Panel if you'd prefer.
