Merge Acc query to Word (2007)

Me again. I am aware of how to do a mail merge, and more importantly a merge to word from access (I am using Access 2007) but the concept is still the same.

I right-click the query
I choose Export...
I choose Merge it with MS Word
and than
I choose Create a new document and link to it...


that's when it happens...

I get a dialog box that comes up that says the DB is locked for editing (and none of the choices are workable...enclosing a pic). The DB query is not open, no tables are open, nothing is open in the DB for it to be giving me this dialog. First it said that it was having exclusive issues (so I closed the db and opened it "not in exclusive mode", and that's why I now get this dialog that appears and the query won't merge to word.

If I try to start from Word...Tables is all that appears when I try to connect to the DB and I need the "query" which doesn't show as an option.

I suppose the merge with the query is not possible because you have to input parameters. (I suppose also it is the same query as in the previous post)
What you can do is create a new table with a maketable query based on qryCustomersByTotalSales and use this new table for your merge from Access or from Word.

I just went ahead and did it in an Access Report. Just thought not being able to send it to Word was very odd. However, I do expect your absolutely right about the Parameters stopping the process...although I don't recall it ever doing so before.
