These talent shows have become quite mundane and 'samey' over the years, but it's moments like that, that make them worthwhile.

I'm not sure if Paul made it accross the pond, here's a very similar moment from 2 years ago.....

    Paul Potts

And my favourite from last year....

I'll have to listen to the other two later this afternoon when I return home. BUT, I've been back twice more to watch and listen because I wanted to cry some more!

It was interesting to see the looks of skepticism on the faces of not only the judges, but some audience members as well. It didn't take a couple of bars out of her mouth and the audience was screaming and applauding. I'm sure she didn't get much past eight bars and they were STANDING in enjoyment!

I'm going to do some Googling on her name but if you read or hear any more about what happens to her, please post back here. Someone should surely offer her a job in "the business" before long.

Glad you enjoyed it Big Al. What tickles me most is Simon Cowell, when he suddenly realises that he's just found his next potential million!

    ITV - Britain's got talent

There's bit's n pieces in today's british tabloids (news of the world / people / mirror etc). I think it will be a few weeks before we see more from her in the next round. I'll keep you posted.....

    That was amazing.

My three-year-old granddaughter was in the room while I was playing the clip, and as soon as the singing started she immediately came over and climbed up on my lap, mesmerized. In fact she insisted that I replay the song so she could hear it again.

No matter. It's all still viewable, from wherever.

May I add my thanks for sharing these with us. Her performance was just wonderful. It is always inspiring when you come across someone that is obviously not part of the Star-making system. I do hope she does really well and still manages to maintain that wonderful character.

Please do let us know how she makes out in this competition.

Sometimes it takes awfully long for some news to cross the pond, unfortunately! Googling around on USA media, they're just now catching up as this article illustrates. It shows that WE are not alone in our weeping for her success:

Suliman, on the otherhand, left me cold. It was so 1980's.

And CNN continues their adoration in this article, updated yesterday. Unlikely diva grabs A-list attention - CNN.com

I love this quote near the end of the story:
And on Easter Sunday, churchgoers showed their own appreciation by giving her a standing ovation when she got to Mass. "We let out a wee bit of a cheer for her," Boyle's parish priest, Ryszard Holuka, told The Washington Post. "We are quite proud of her."

I have seen some follow up interviews of Susan and she is a truly kind and unassuming person. It is good to see something nice happen to a truly nice person!
