Our company name was misspelled when Windows and Office 2007 was installed on our server. We corrected the spelling throughout the registry and in the Word template files (Normal.dotm) for all existing users (Document Properties > Advanced > Summary > Company).

However, when we add a new user now, the Company field in the new user's template still has the old spelling. Where is it coming from?

Good question. How are you adding the new user? Not using an old disk image?

New users are added by the system administrator in Computer Management > Local Users and Groups. However, even if the Normal.dotm template file is deleted for an existing user, when Word recreates it, it has the old company spelling in Document Properties > Advanced > Summary > Company.
