Using bullets. When I change the bullets in one set of paragraphs (which I have selected), bullets in earlier paragraphs also change. Why is this, and how can I prevent paragraphs I have NOT selected, from changing?

Is the problem, the Word Options I have? Are there any other Word Options I need to set? I have turned off the options to *keep track of formatting,*use normal style for bulleted or numbered lists, *format beginning of list like one before it, *define styles based on your formatting. Also do the options on the Autoformat tab apply if I never use the option to “autoformat”?

Does the style that you use have "Automatically update" turned on?

Hans - I was not using a style. I was just applying bullets from the icons on the ribbon. Is Word 2007 somehow choosing a style that I don't know about.?

    thanks.
    Doris.

I don't have Word 2007; I hope someone else can help you.
