I created a new one-page document that uses outline numbering for the paragraphs. The first level uses "List number," and the second level uses "List Number 2." Level 1 paragraphs are number 1, 2, 3. Level 2 paragraphs use a, b, c.

I sent the document as an e-mail attachment to two colleagues. On their screens, the Level 1 paragraphs display their numbering correctly, but the Level 2 paragraphs are merely indented. They have no numbering.

    Where did I go astray?

Has "Automatically update document styles" been ticked in the Templates and Add-Ins dialog (or whatever its equivalent in Word 2007 is)?
If so, the document would import the styles from the user's template when opened.

Ah! That's got to be the answer! I'm not at work at the moment, so I'll have to check tomorrow. I recently got a new computer at work, so I've had to reset all my Word settings. Thank you, Hans!
