    Unhappy

I need advice about which program to install. The programs I'm considering is:

    1. Driver Detective (purchase)

    2. PC Driver Doctor (freeware)

I want the best and purchasing or getting one for free is NOT a consideration. I'm looking for excellent performance.

Thanks for all help and suggestions.

Are these beta products? If not you posted in the wrong forum. I would think after all this time you'd be kind enough to give us links when you inquire about software or whatever.

I'm going now to see if I can find your products and if they aren't beta then I'll move your post to the Software board.

In all the years I've been using Windows PCs, I've never felt the need for this kind of software...

DriverMax Agent was discussed in a thread in February 2008, and Loungers were wary of it at the time. It is a FREE service to which I subscribe and at present it is apparently so popular they are begging users to limit their downloads to one a day because their servers are overloaded. I have had good luck with it, although I appreciate the security concerns expressed in the 2008 thread. It does take some learning to figure out what is going on, as with all software, but it might bear a fresh review.

Maybe I have just been lucky, but I am pleased with the results. The first time you run it you may have a lot of hits, but after that you can put it on a schedule. Drivers don't change all that often, and being a version behind normally is no problem, but once in a while a really big one will come along.

Uniblue DriverScanner may definitely be worth a look if you are interested, especially if you check the offer HERE. This thing is Microsoft Gold Certified, and it has hitherto been rather expen$ive.

Just remember A Gold Certified Partner is more a maketing distinction than one of technical excellence or programming expertise.
