The COMODO people found the issue as well...new version out today.

    ************
KNow what I just found? I have COMODO Firewasll and AV (3.9.74913.496) installed on a Windows 7 setup, and it won't run
    Chkdsk with COMODO there!

I was thinking it was something I was doing wrong (no snickering!), but it's COMODO I think! I'm posting to their board to see...So is that a major issue? If so, what can/should I use for frewall/AV on Windows_7?

I imagine the response you might get from Comodo is that when Win7 goes "Gold" their firewall will be adjusted for that OS. But I don't really know. Otherwise, you can always use whatever Windows provides.

Al, note the edit. The new version seems to have fixed whatever was ailing it.

    Right, I missed the edit.

Al, I know I'm a bit blind, but I don't see that choice when I edit -- at least I didn't when I just went to check...

Please don't edit the original post and add the solution. Add a reply to yourself. It gets confusing for those who read this as a thread and don't go back to the top each time.

Hey Chuck, do you mind posting what version of Comodo you downloaded and the link you downloaded it from, please?

I just went to the Comodo site and the download link brings version 3.8.65951.477 (whereas you said in the original post that you already had a version 3.9..... something.)

Thanks, Chuck, but the above is the link to the forums but (I know I'm old and dense) I can't find the blankety-blank link to the download of this version. I'm still "searching" as I write this, but the only place I can find where that version is mentioned doesn't have a download link (that I can see). Can you copy and paste the link for the download, please? I am registered on their forums.

This is the closest I can come, and no download link in sight:
