I have two PCs networked, both using Windows XP Home SP2. On one of them, if I click on a mailto link on a website it loads Word 2003 as the email editor rather than Outlook Express 6 as happened previously and still does so on the other PC. Has some setting been altered?

I seem to recall outlook express is linked to internet explorer. Is it worth checking (in internet explorer) Tools > internet options > Programs, and make sure outlook express is selected as email programme?

Please right click on the link and tell us what the properties for the link are (the target of the link, in particular).

Sorry, but the page from my local newspaper carrying the problem mailto link is no longer available. I'll keep my eyes open for another example and send the properties on when I can.
