    Hi

I can drag the right side of the address box to the left, narrowing the address box and simultaneously widening the search box.
Is there any way to drag the right side of the search box to the left to make it smaller?
Basically, I would like to move the search box more to the center of the window leaving blank space to the right of it.

    Cheers

    Ken

I don't think you can do that, but you can move the search bar to the menu bar:
    - Right-click the menu bar and select Customize... from the popup menu.
    - Drag the search bar to the menu bar.
    - Click Done.

    Thanks for the reply Hans.

I tried that but the search box is still pinned to the right hand side of the window.
What I'm trying to do is to free up the right side of the header for some graphics.

    Cheers

If you can add the graphics to the toolbar in the form of a button on a new toolbar, you can move the toolbar to the right of the search box. Otherwise I don't think it's possible, but perhaps the Firefox experts know of a way to do it.

    Thanks Hans.

I've been playing with Personas for Firefox.
Most of these have a primary graphic on the right hand side.
The search bar destroys the effect hence my desire to move it.
I have found a userChrome.css edit to display the search bar on mouse hover on mozillaZine Forums but it doesn't work for me.

    I'll keep looking.

    Cheers

To create a gap to the right of the search box, how about a margin? Perhaps try something like this:
    Code:
    #search-container {margin-right:200px;}

    That's what I needed.
    Thank you very much.
