    Hello Loungers,

Last time I tried this (for a movie), it worked out pretty well, so here goes again. I'm trying to find the name of a television (Western) series that aired in the 60's. I was a child when the show came on, so I could be remembering incorrectly...

I think it was on in the mid to later 60's.
Don't remember if it was in color or b&w.
The show regularly featured a younger cowboy and his grandfather.
Every show would present new challenges, gunfights, etc.
Seems they travelled constantly (by horseback), going town to town.
Don't really recall any other characters in the show.
The primary subject of the show was that the younger lad was in search of his father, who was the son of the grandfather.
They were always "hot on the trail", often arriving at a town a day late, just missing the encounter.
Don't really know if the father was lost, running, or why the search was taking place.
I don't think they ever found the father, as that would have probably ended the series.
It was an evening show, perhaps primetime. Was not an afternoon or afterschool show (ie Lone Ranger, FTroop).
It was not a comedy. It was dramatic, and somewhat sad. It was easy to find yourself rooting for the young man - hoping he would find his dad.

Anyway, if any of that rings a bell, I sure would like to know the name of the series.

    Thanks,
    - Ricky

John - Thank you very much for that. I typed all kinds of things into the google search box and turned up nothing hopeful or useful. I followed your link and seen the picture of Walter Brennan and knew immediately you had found the right show. Very cool. Thanks again.

I still remember Walter Brennan's phrase "No Brag, Just Fact"
