I have a problem...my windows live msn messenger will not sign in I keep getting an error message.. error number 84cc0020 your contact list is not available right now try again later have had this message all day...is there anyone out there that could help me out on this one please...and also the messenger is not holding my email.. each time its closed off my email is gone..

Just wanted to give you an update on how I am going with this prob..I have uninstalled messenger and re downloaded it and installed it and it seems to connect after that but..as soon as I restart the computer it goes back to its previous error of 84cc0020..any other suggestions of why this might be happening..?

If you followed the instructions in the prior link you will have deleted your local copy of Contacts. Then when WLM starts it will download the Contacts automatically. It could be you have a corrupted Contact that only shows itself on a re-boot.

So how do I sort that problem out of corrupted contacts...does that mean I have to delete my contacts out of windows live mail outlook as well as the contacts from my messenger..wat would be the solution to this problem please help as its getting frustrating trying to work it all out..

I'm not sure what the best (or required) procedure would be. You could experiment by exporting your contact from WLM, then delete a few , re-boot & see what happens. That will be very tedious but it may work. Or you could contact Microsoft starting at E-mail Support.
