Is there a file that holds the user's preference for items on the status bar in Word 2007? Word.qat holds settings for the quick access toolbar; is there a similar file for customizations to the status bar?

    Thanks.

Just the standard items on the Customize Status Bar pane: Page number, Section, Formatted page number, Track changes, etc.

Are those settings stored in a file or in the Registry?

Are those customizable in Word 2007? I use 2002 / 2003 myself and I'm not aware of the status bar being customizable.

Yes: right-click on the Status Bar, and you can check or clear the items you want to be available.

OK, thanks. I don't know where these are stored, and since I don't have Word 2007 I can't experiment.

My guess is this registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\W ord\StatusBar

Some of the items do not have a corresponding entry in my registry, but this could indicate that they have never been toggled on and off, so Word is simply applying a default setting. (I only experimented with track changes.)
