    Hi,

    (WXP, O2007)

I have a 2003 workbook which I loaded in 2007 and saved it as xlsm.
There are two textboxes, which I want to align, like I was used to with the Drawing Toolbar in 2003.

I now select the two text boxes, and the Drawing Tools tab should appear, but it does not.

After long searching I gave up. The Help does not give any reasonable answer.

I have a picture on the same sheet, When I click it, the Picture Tools tab appears properly.

Any sugggestion other then open the file in 2003 and do it there?

    TIA

    Wolf

    Try this:

On the home ribbon click on "Find Select" ---The Binoculars

    Click the white arrow.

    Then select the text boxes

A Format tab will appear at the top of the sheet, this tab has the commands that I believe you are looking for.

    Thank you.

    It does not work.
I can only select the texboxes by choosing Design Mode in Developer (similar as in 2003).

If I do as you suggested, I am able to select the picture, but not the textboxes.

Well I certainly see what you mean. You just can't select them.

I made new text boxes, and was able to select the new boxes fine.

I'm stumped, maybe someone can give you a solution.

    Hi Wolf

Please send a screen shot of the problematic text boxes ensuring that you include the relevant row and column heading info.
    Regards
    Don

    Hi,

    thanks for the answer.
I actually do not know what you mean. My textboxes have no row or column headings, it is just like in the sheet I had attached.

I guess the problem is, that 2007 does not accept (or recognise) shapes which are coming from 2003.

I opened your file with Excel 2003. Here's a screen shot of what I found. Is there any difference in what you sent?[attachment=83817:TextBoxes.gif]

On opening the file (in 2003), I received the following message. I do not understand the "uninitialized", comment. Perhaps others can shed some light.

    Hi Don,

    the issue is:

When you open the file in 2003 (even read only), you can select both textboxes.
Then you can open the Drawing toolbar, and with "Draw - Align & Distribute" you can align the two textboxes.

In 2007 it does not work (for me and for "stans").

These two textboxes originally come from a 2003 file, which was converted to a 2007 file.

I played around with this some more and found that, if I go into Design mode in 2007, then I can mannually move the test boxes around, change the size etc................ but I still don't get the drawing tool bar.

    That's exactly what I found.
