    Not that this is something I need right this minute, but always something I wished I had asked when I had a spare moment...I have that moment now, could someone enlighten me on a problem I have?

    1. I do a mailmerge in Word (doesn't matter what version, it's the same in all of them)
    2. I pull data from e.g. an Access table
    3. One of the fields I am pulling is a currency field (looks like money in Access)
    4. Once merged in my Word document, I lose the formatting of currency and am left with just the numbers
    (Even though I tell it to preserve formatting on the way in)
    5. I've tried to EDIT (right-click the field and choose Edit...Field) and find something in the dialog that might help to no avail.
    6. The only option I can think of is to use a Field Code like: MERGEFIELD FieldName [Switch] but I don't know enough about
    switches to put one together.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks so much...

    Right-click the merge field (in the document that is connected to the data source), and select Toggle Field Codes from the popup menu. You'll see something like

    { MERGEFIELD "Amount" }

    Click before the closing brace } and add the following:

    \# "$,0.00"

    It should now look like this:

    { MERGEFIELD "Amount" \# "$,0.00" }

    Press F9 to hide the field code again.

    You can specify another number format, if you wish.

    Bless You! Switches don't seem as wierd as I thought they were...trying to make it too difficult. Never stop learning in these apps.
