Does anybody know if there is a way to open a dialog box (such as find file dialog box) that can allow a user to click on a file. Once the user clicks on the file and clicks Ok on the dialog box. How can I get the file path including the name of the file that was selected? I'd like to see if this is possible without actully opening the file that the user selected. I'm only looking to see if I can capture the file path and file name as a string.

Thanks for any help with this!!

You can use Application.GetOpenFileName for this. See the VBA help or GetOpenFilename Method for instructions and a code example.

    Hans,

Thanks very much for the quick reply. GetOpenFileName is what I was looking for. I think I tried every option but this one. Many thanks!!
