A consultant who does some work for me bought the Home & Student 2007 Office Version. He wants to shade alternating rows on a spreadsheet but says it's not like the Pro version where you can select conditional formatting and pick a color. Anyone familiar with the student version and how to shade alternate rows?

One way is to download the freeware ASAP Utilities (www.asap-utilities.com), which contains not only the alternate row shading, but a whole bunch of other useful utilities bundled with a good manual.

To the best of my knowledge, it's exactly the same in both versions. The difference between the H&S and other versions of Office is the programs included, rather than what they do. (H&S doesn't include Outlook for example)
