    add printer wizard

Trying to add a printer to the network, I select 'my computer' and the wizard locks up. Any ideas?

You are trying to add a local printer, yes?
Do you have anything on your parallel port such as a scanner?
Running any software such as Hewlett-Packard (HP) JetAdmin port monitor ?
    Running any AV software?
    What SP are you on?

Otherwise, the only 'printer install problems' I came across were:

No, I am adding a network printer, but this server is the print server, so the printer is added to be managed by it, which is why I select My computer.

If you are on the server, trying to add a new printer to it, then it is a "Local" printer. Then when you what to use this new printer from another computer, then this is a "Network" printer.

Are you on a Peer to Peer or a domain network?

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

Domain Network. I have added all 60-ish printers this way in the past....................
