    G'day there. We are using Visio 2003 (SM ??).

    The attachment may explain the problem better. My colleague has the problem but I do not when I use the same Visio document.

    When either of us prints the document we can read the text OK.

    This is called Greeked Text which is a setting that can help the screen redraw speed when the text is too small to read.

    Have a look under Tools>Options>View for the size of the text in the "Greek text under:" setting. You would normally expect a number of around 4-6 points but if this number is higher then the greeking will appear at sizes where you can easily read the text.
