I really have had enough of giving MS hundreds of pounds for updates to programs that prove to have little or no more functionality that those being replaced.

This especially applies to Outlook. I have always refused to have it on my machines. Does anybody know of an alternative?

BTW Iím surprised that there is no alternative to Outlook in Open Office

Microsoft has a free mail client: Windows Live Mail, the successor to Outlook Express.

Mozilla also has a free mail client: Thunderbird.

And then there are free web-mail services such as Gmail from Google. You can use Gmail to retrieve and send messages from your "regular" mail account(s) in addition to your Gmail account.
