    Hi,

My office is transitioning to Excel 2007 and I'm on the pilot. I'm making updates to some 2003 files in 2007, and hopefully I'm just missing something simple here.

I need to color backgrounds and fonts with the same colors that are already in use in the file, but the only easy color options I get at Format Cells and elsewhere are the new standard Theme colors. Is there any quick and easy way for me to apply the colors that I can now only find at Excel Options > Save > Preserve Visual Appearance of the Workbook > Colors?

    Thanks!

The Format Painter will let you copy existing ("old") colors to other cells.

Oy vey! There's lots of cells with various other pre-existing formatting choices that need the colors, so I guess that other formatting will just have to be overwritten and then reinstated after the colors are applied. (That or create a huge number of styles!) Guess that'll just be part of the pain of making the transition.
    Thanks for the quick answer!
