    Hello All,
I want to insert a row above an existing row and not have the formatting of the existing row apply to the new row. For example if row 2 has a fill color of yellow and I insert above row 2 I would like the new row to not have any fill color or formatting. I am using Excel 2007.

I know I can right click and choose Insert and click on the Options icon and remove formatting but I would like to change the default to insert without copying the formatting of the existing row.

Any assistance you can provide would be wonderful.

    Thanks!!!

I don't think you can change the default behavior. You could create a macro that inserts a row and clears the formatting of the inserted row, then assign this macro to a custom toolbar button and/or keyboard shortcut.

That's what I'll have to do then. Thanks for your assistance, Hans
