A graphics card or video card is the hardware that sends images from your computer to the screen. A graphics card often (but not always) contains its own RAM for storing and processing screen images.

Whether you can upgrade your video card depends on several things:
    - In a laptop, it's usually not possible to replace the video card.
    - A 'advanced' video card often consumes more power than a 'simple' one, so you must make sure that your computer's power supply has enough capacity. Otherwise you'll damage your hardware.

Hans has explained what a graphics card is but why do you feel you need to upgrade it?
    Problems? Poor video?
Is it a desktop or a laptop machine?
    Tell us a little more.

Long ago, there was a time when men cursed and beat on the ground with sticks. It was called witchcraft.
    Today it is called golf!

    It's a laptop.

Sometimes when watching a video it lags and loads or buffers. Will upgrading my RAM be enough?

On laptops the graphics card is built into the mother board and you will not be able to install a separate graphics card.
These built in cards will use some of standard memory for their function, so if you can ADD memory, then this MAY help.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

Do you have a wired or wireless internet connection?
    Is it dialup or broadband?
What is the rated speed of your internet connection?
