    Hi, just wondered if there was anyway of removing the attachments from emails but leaving the email in place (ie not deleting the email.). I'd like to make the inbox file smaller for backup purposes by deleting the very large attachments but still leave the email in place.

    That is not a built-in feature, but you could check out a solution that was posted by JohnBF: [topic="311485"]Attachment Removal Manager[/topic].

    JohnBF wrote a great Outlook Removal Attachment Manager. It saves attachments to disk and optionally replaces them with hyperlinks in the e-mail messages.
    The VBA code is not protected, if you wish you can modify it to delete attachments without saving them to disk (but that is dangerous of course - you might delete files you need!)
