In Excel 2003, I am trying to record a macro in relative mode.

Normally I can do this by going to Tools/ Macro / Record Macro and then clicking the appropriate icon -- it looks like a matrix -- on the small toolbar which appears. (This small toolbar has only one other button, the record button)

However, from one moment to the next, this small toolbar has disappeared. I have tried to resurrect it by going to by going to View / Toolbars and to Tools / Customise but can't find it -- at least not the macro absolute / relative mode toggle button.

Could someone tell me how I can get this button up again, or, that failing, how to specify in code that an action is meant to be in reltaive mode?

I'd be grateful for any help

The toolbar is named "Stop Recording" and it will onle be listed in Tools | Customize or View | Toolbars while you are recording a macro. Selecting it will be recorded too, resulting in a line

    Application.CommandBars("Stop Recording").Visible = True

but you can easily remove that from the recorded macro.
