    I have just bought a new monitor and was woundering if I can run two seperate desktops on vista ult 64 bit.
    I have extended my desktop to two monitors but would like two different desktops.
    I have binged it {now that sounds strange!!} bur found nothing.

    Does your video card have a port for a second monitor? If so, plug in the new monitor and see How do I setup dual monitors in Windows Vista?.
    If your video card doesn't have such a port, you'd have to get a new video card that does...

    If you mean two independent desktops for the same user - then no.

    I think the best you could do would be to extend the desktop and run a virtual machine on one of the monitors.

    Hans/Joe.
    I have both monitors running [extended desktop]

    I think your right Joe I have SunxVM with XP so I will add vista and run it on the other mooitor.
    I binged some more and found a vitual desktop.I have not tried it as yet [been playing golf]
    I will give it a run but a virtual machine seems the bettter way to go.
