My computer setup is DELL model 4500S - running under XP Home edition.

Lately I've been getting, at every login, this Error message:

    ERROR

    IDS_LOCALSERVER

with an OK button below to eliminate the Error message box.

I don't know what this Error message means and how can I eliminate this popup ??

    Thanks for your help...

Are you absolutely sure about IDS_LOCALSERVER? I can't find a single reference to it in Google (or Bing) or in the newsgroups.

Hans, I just ran google as ids_local server instead of ids_localserver (notice space in local server) and
    got several result returns.
am not familiar with ids_local server in itself, but hope this helps.

Thanks, I had noticed that too, but the results didn't seem very relevant.

Just to be clear, are you talking about logging into Windows itself, the internet or a website ??

The "IDS_LOCALSERVER" error message comes into view immediately after any Windows login (both for me or my wife).

And the exact spelling in caps is "IDS_LOCALSERVER"

IDS or Intrusion Detection System "is software and/or hardware designed to detect unwanted attempts at accessing, manipulating, and/or disabling of computer systems, mainly through a network, such as the Internet."

I don't know how this applies in this situation unless it has something to do with a home network.
