    Thumbs up

    I have already downloaded IE 8, but the pop up to ask me to download still keeps coming back, some time 3 times a day. Do you know how I can stop it???

    It's always something!!!

    1.) Did you install IE8 after downloading?
    2.) Is the popup from Windows Update?
    3.) Can you post a screeshot of the popup?
    4.) What operating system are you running?

    Instead of using a camera, press Alt+PrintScreen to place a picture of the dialog on the Windows clipboard.
    Paste it into a graphics editor such as Paint.
    Save it as a .png or .jpg file.
    Attach this file.

    The picture at the link you posted is illegible at a larger size. Try saving as a jpg or png and posting here. Multiple instances of iexplore.exe are OK with newer version of IE. Those are used to isolate tabs so if there is a problem in one tab it probably won't cause IE to completely crash.

    Having you tried letting the installer run again?

    Did you ever complete the "Run once" screen that is shown in your camera shot?
    There are about three questions that MUST be answered and then you will NOT see this Run once screen.

    Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

    I tried several different ways to post the captured screen shot here, I even learned how to change the format from a bmp to jpg., png., so they are attached.

    JoeP and DaveA I want to thank you both for being so patient with me.

    JoeP;
    I have not tried to run it again, as every time it came back, I would download it again, after the 3rd time I had figured it was a glich, but it is still coming back everyday.
    Tonight I will try and run the installer again.

    You have NOT stated what OS you are having this issue with?

    Can you get a shot of just the "Welcome to IE8" screen?
    Is this the install screen or the run once set up screen?

    Wow, I must of spent the better part of a day trying to get this post to go thru.
    I dont really like attachments, a tecky friend of mine showed me how they can lead you to a virus, that is why I decided to try to learn how to do code.
    So it finally took me giving up, to try the 'attach files tab'. Wow I was done in less than a minute.

    DaveA;
    It is a pop-up notice to get you to download IE8 or set it up. I had already heard about some of the faults IE8 was having, so I would close it and not think twice about it.
    Then I decided to go ahead and download IE8, and now it pops up everytime I open IE.
    I think I have already said I am running, XP Pro, in second post from the beginning.
    And I have run the installation 3 times, but not lately. Try to do it here soon.

    Since I last wrote, it took several days before it popped up again, well 2day it popped, I clicked the next, it asked if I wanted to download express or custom.
    I chose express, it took less than 30sec, but it did not seem like a download more like an update. Any way I have not seen the pop up yet.

    Thank you and Happy New Year
