Need to calculate project time but want to remove weekend days from result in column A. Want to automatically remove the 2 days associated with weekends as non-work days. Sample attachment

If you install the Analysis ToolPak add-in (through Tools | Add-Ins...), you can use the NETWORKDAYS function. This function calculates the number of days between two dates excluding weekend days (and optionally holidays, if you provide a list of those). The formula in A2 would become

    =NETWORKDAYS(B2,C2)-1+MOD(C2,1)-MOD(B2,1)

The disadvantage is that the formulas won't work for users who haven't installed Analysis ToolPak. If you want to avoid the Analysis ToolPak, you can use a custom VBA function.

Thank you Hans, that works. I use networkdays in another part of spreadsheet. Was just unable to develop proper formula.
