And he did NOT get sucked out of the plane as it happens in all of the movies

Having worked in the DESIGN area of the several of the Boeing planes, I have had to laugh every time I saw a movie where all of this "Blow out" happens.

Yes, this is a real problem, as the materials age they get weak.

Remember, the 737 that the front skins peel back and the lost one 2 or 3 people. I was working at Boeing at that time and we did hell of a lot of research and had to do a lot of "Updates" to ALL models. Of course the other makers of planes had to do the same research and upgrades to prevent it from happening to their planes.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

    Note the alternative explanation!

The good news was that even with this significant failure of a seriously corroded airplane they managed to get the wheels on the ground.

    Yes, that is the one.
Tests have been run many times, and yes there is always so "sucking" happens BUT, not like it does in the movies.

There was even a TV show (MythBusters) that did all kinds of attempts to get this to happen and they never got it to work.

I am guessing that they had to replace the seat he was in as well!

All kidding aside, I think the crew should be applauded for keeping everything under control and leading by example for the passengers. I think all the passengers should have been applauded for keeping their cool considering the circumstances.
