Hi I like getting my emails on my phone, does anyone know how to forward the subject only? As of now I forward the whole email to my phone, but this results in 3 text messages cause the size of the message.

    Thanks in advance

How are you forwarding messages now?

If you are forwarding using an Outlook rule, I don't think there is an option to forward only the subject. You could write a macro (a Visual Basic procedure) that extracts just the subject and sends it to you in a new message -- in recent versions of Outlook you can hook this up to a rule (I think the action is called "run a script"). Does this seem to be heading in the right direction?

Yes I am forwarding it through Outlook 07 rules, and looked into creating a customized script but i am not sure on the code

Me neither, as I think it would take an hour or two to build and test it.

As someone who does not propose to undertake or debug this endeavor, wouldn't this be relatively simple:

    Code:
Sub FwdSubjOnly(itm As MailItem) ' hook to Rule
      Dim msgFwd As Outlook.MailItem
      Dim intC as Integer

      Set msgFwd = itm.Copy
      If msgFwd.Class = olMailItem Then
    	With msgFwd
    	  For intC = .Recipients.Count To 1 Step -1
    		.Recipients.Remove intC
    	  Next intC
    	  .Recipients.Add "111.222.3333@myprovider.com"
    	  .Body = ""
    	  .Save
    	  .Send
    	End With
      End If
      Set msgFwd = Nothing
    End Sub
    I'm probably missing something...

The code was not tested as I did not want to send myself a bunch of texts. So post back with any specific errors. See also mskb 306108 on how to hook a "VB script" to a Rule.
