    Hello,
Is it possible in Excel 2003 to display more than 255 characters in a cell?

Thanks for any assistance you can provide,

According to Excel specifications and limits, the length of cell contents (text) is at most 32,767 characters. Only 1,024 display in a cell; all 32,767 display in the formula bar.

Thanks for the reply Hans. All the data will display in the formula bar but the cell itself does not automatically display all the data. I have turned on Wrap Text and manually adjusted the column width and row height to view all the data but that makes the cell really wide and tall. Is there a way to have the column width autmatically adjust as you continue adding data in the cell?

    Thanks

I have come accross this in the past when where the characters > 255, then the entire contents turn to ######

That happens if the cell is formatted as Text. If it is formatted as General, 1024 characters will be displayed.
